SERVICE TERMS

SERVICE TERMS

Last updated: September 28, 2026

These Service Terms apply to production, mixing, mastering, vocal production, editing and related audio services purchased from Rodney Jason through rodneyjason.com.

By booking a project, completing checkout, or otherwise purchasing a service, you (“Client”) agree to these Service Terms.

1. SERVICES

Rodney Jason (“Producer”) offers two primary services:

Mix + Finish — intended for songs where the underlying production is substantially complete but requires vocal editing, tuning, selective production enhancements, mixing and mastering.

Full Record — a broader production service that may include production, arrangement, vocal production, vocal editing and tuning, mixing and mastering.

Each booking covers one song unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. MIX + FINISH

Mix + Finish includes:

  • Vocal editing and tuning as reasonably required
  • Selective production enhancements
  • Full mixing
  • Mastering
  • Up to five revision rounds
  • Applicable instrumental and performance versions

Selective production enhancements may include transitions, effects, textures, drum enhancement, sound replacement or reinforcement, and minor arrangement details where Producer believes they will strengthen the record.

Mix + Finish does not include rebuilding or fully producing a song from scratch. If Producer determines that the project requires substantially more production than is included in Mix + Finish, Producer will contact Client before performing additional work.

3. FULL RECORD

Full Record may include:

  • Production
  • Arrangement
  • Vocal production
  • Vocal editing and tuning
  • Mixing
  • Mastering
  • Final agreed deliverables

Full Record is intended for songs requiring substantial creative production beyond the scope of Mix + Finish.

The service applies to the song submitted with the applicable booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. PROJECT FILES

Client is responsible for providing usable project materials through the Project Files + Demo Song link submitted during booking.

Depending on the project, these materials may include stems, multitracks, vocal files, instrumental files, MIDI, rough mixes, reference tracks and other relevant materials.

Client agrees to provide accurate information and files reasonably necessary for Producer to complete the service.

Material delays caused by missing, corrupted or unusable files may affect delivery time.

5. PAYMENT

Payment is due at checkout unless another payment arrangement has been agreed in writing.

Work is not required to begin until payment has been successfully received and all reasonably necessary project materials have been supplied.

Any work requested outside the purchased service or agreed project scope may require an additional fee, which will be disclosed before that additional work begins.

6. REVISIONS

Mix + Finish includes up to five revision rounds.

A revision round means one consolidated set of reasonable notes submitted by Client after reviewing a delivered version.

Revisions are intended to refine the agreed creative direction. They do not include substantial changes to the song, replacement recordings, newly supplied production elements, complete changes of direction, or work outside the original service scope.

Additional or out-of-scope revisions may be quoted separately.

7. CREATIVE DISCRETION

Client acknowledges that music production, mixing and related creative services involve professional judgment and subjective creative decisions.

Producer will use reasonable professional judgment in performing the purchased service while considering Client's submitted notes, references and creative direction.

Specific commercial performance, streaming numbers, chart positions, label interest, playlist placement or other market outcomes are not guaranteed.

8. DELIVERY

Final deliverables depend on the service purchased and the requirements of the project.

Applicable deliverables may include the final master, instrumental version, performance version and other versions expressly included or agreed in writing.

Session files, internal processing chains, presets, templates, proprietary workflows and working files are not automatically included unless specifically agreed in writing.

9. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Because project capacity is reserved and creative work may begin shortly after booking, payments are not automatically refundable once work has begun.

If Client requests cancellation before work begins, Producer may approve a refund, less any non-refundable payment-processing fees or costs already incurred where legally permitted.

If Producer determines before beginning work that the purchased service is materially unsuitable for the submitted project, Producer may offer Client the option to change services, pay any applicable difference, or receive a refund.

Nothing in these terms limits any non-waivable rights Client may have under applicable law.

10. CLIENT MATERIALS AND WARRANTIES

Client represents that Client owns, controls, or has obtained all permissions reasonably necessary to use the recordings, compositions, samples, beats, instrumentals, vocals and other materials supplied to Producer.

Client is responsible for obtaining any required third-party licenses, permissions or clearances unless Producer expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

Producer is not responsible for claims arising from material supplied by Client without the necessary rights or permissions.

11. MIX + FINISH — OWNERSHIP

Client retains ownership of Client's pre-existing recordings and compositions.

Upon full payment, creative production additions created by Producer specifically as part of the purchased Mix + Finish service may be incorporated into Client's final master and exploited as part of that finished recording, subject to any separately agreed songwriting, publishing, sample or third-party rights.

Producer does not acquire ownership of Client's pre-existing composition merely by performing Mix + Finish services.

12. FULL RECORD — MASTER RIGHTS AND PRODUCER ROYALTIES

For a fully paid Full Record project, the parties intend the agreed production fee to constitute Producer's compensation for Producer's production services with respect to the final master recording, except where otherwise expressly agreed in writing.

Subject to the separate signed Full Record / Ghost Production Agreement:

  • Producer will not claim ongoing producer royalties from exploitation of the final master solely for the production services covered by the agreement.
  • Producer will not claim producer “points” or a percentage of master-recording revenue solely for those covered production services.
  • Ownership and transfer of Producer's applicable rights in the final master production will be defined in the signed Full Record / Ghost Production Agreement.
  • Producer credit may be credited, omitted or kept confidential as specified in that agreement.

These provisions concern production and master-recording rights only. They do not automatically transfer or waive songwriting or publishing rights.

13. SONGWRITING AND PUBLISHING

Songwriting and publishing are separate from production and master-recording compensation.

If Producer materially contributes original lyrics, melody, or other copyrightable elements of the underlying musical composition, any resulting songwriting ownership and publishing split must be agreed separately in writing.

Purchase of Mix + Finish or Full Record does not, by itself, constitute a buyout or waiver of Producer's songwriting or publishing rights arising from a material songwriting contribution.

No songwriting split will be implied solely because Producer performs mixing, mastering, editing, ordinary production or technical services.

14. CREDITS AND CONFIDENTIALITY

For ordinary Mix + Finish projects, credits may be handled in accordance with the parties' written agreement or customary project requirements.

Full Record projects may be performed on a confidential or ghost-production basis where agreed.

Where confidentiality or waiver of public producer credit is part of a Full Record project, the specific obligations will be stated in the Full Record / Ghost Production Agreement.

Producer will not intentionally disclose confidential unreleased material contrary to an applicable written confidentiality obligation.

15. COMMUNICATION

Project communication may occur through email, WhatsApp or another agreed communication channel.

Client is responsible for providing current contact information and responding within a reasonable period when approvals, files or creative decisions are required.

Material delays in Client responses may affect project scheduling.

16. PORTFOLIO USE

Unless a project is subject to an agreed confidentiality or ghost-production restriction, Producer may request permission to identify completed publicly released work in Producer's portfolio, website, social media or professional credits.

Confidential Full Record projects will be handled according to the applicable signed agreement.

17. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Payments and certain website functions may be provided through third-party services such as Shopify and payment processors.

Use of those services may also be subject to their respective terms and privacy practices.

18. CHANGES TO PROJECT SCOPE

If Client requests work materially beyond the service purchased, Producer may provide a revised scope and additional price before performing that additional work.

Producer is not required to perform work outside the agreed scope without additional compensation.

19. ENTIRE SERVICE UNDERSTANDING

These Service Terms, the service selected at checkout, the information submitted with the booking, and any additional written project agreement together form the commercial understanding between Client and Producer concerning the purchased services.

For Full Record projects, if a signed Full Record / Ghost Production Agreement conflicts with these general Service Terms regarding master rights, producer compensation, credit, confidentiality or other project-specific rights, the signed project-specific agreement will control with respect to that conflict.
